Generations For Peace is supporting one of its partners, the Jordan Olympic Committee, in recruiting for the following position: ​

Jordan Olympic Committee: 

The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) is the governing body for sports in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Founded in 1957, the JOC became the nurturing body for 34 Olympic and non-Olympic sports federations in the kingdom, laying down the foundation and trail to develop and rise up with the state of sports in Jordan. 

  • Careful planning led by HRH Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein enabled the JOC to develop the sports scene in Jordan with both consistency and vision positioning Jordan as a key, medal winning participant in all the major sports events both regionally and internationally . 
  • Administrative efforts by the JOC were praised by the international sports community  pinpointing Jordan as a healthy and worthy host for numerous Arab, Asian and international sporting events and championships such as the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in 2016. 
  • Recognizing Jordan’s efforts in reshaping and bettering the sports scene both regionally and internationally, HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) was elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 2010 among other honorary positions. 
  • Given the role played and demonstration of the highest levels of commitment to sports betterment, Dr Jacques Rogge, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) named the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) in “the world’s Top 10%” Olympic Committees, cementing the Jordan Olympic Committee and its efforts as a role model raising standards in the sports world and a key player in the future of sports.

  • The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) is a non-profit organization that represents the strong, independent voice for Jordanian Olympic Sport and the place for all aspiring athletes to better themselves and grow while representing Jordan all around the world.

Job Summary

The nurse provides the necessary medical care for athletes and staff with high professionalism and full attention, by assessing the patients' conditions and performing the required medical procedures according to doctors' instructions and approved protocols. This includes accurately and regularly recording and documenting medical information and dealing with athletes and staff with kindness and respect. The nurse must coordinate with other healthcare teams to ensure the quality of care and provide psychological and moral support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' conditions and provide necessary healthcare.
  • Implement the treatment and care plan set by the doctors.
  • Perform basic medical procedures such as measuring blood pressure, blood sugar, oxygen levels, changing dressings, and giving injections.
  • Document medical information and update patients' health records.
  • Respect medical confidentiality standards and apply safety and cleanliness procedures in the workplace.
  • Commit to developing professional skills and attending necessary training courses.
  • Comply with any directives from the direct supervisor.
  • Adhere to the policies of the medical department and the Jordan Olympic Committee.
  • Work according to shift schedules to cover different time periods, with each shift being 8 hours long.
  • Consult with doctors in the department before performing any medical procedures and do not administer any medications without doctors' orders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • At least one year of practical experience in emergency care.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association accredited center.

Professional Competencies

  • Ability to use specialized computer programs, in addition to proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and email.
  • Advanced knowledge of medical examination techniques and medical data analysis.

Personal Competencies

  • Strong communication skills with doctors, technicians, therapists, trainers, and athletes.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Quick and effective decision-making skills in various situations.
  • Ability to provide clear and detailed explanations of results and recommendations to concerned parties.
