Job Description And Responsibilities

• Conduct patent and non-patent searches following the internal department policy and using various online databases to identify relevant patents and information related to the pipeline products.
• Analyze the patent search results and provide summaries of findings to the IP team.
• Design search methodologies to improve the search accuracy and efficiency.
• Utilize, maintain and update the internal Hikma patent databases and create relevant reports.
• Provide general user support to IP databases and respond quickly to the identified problems and issues.
• Maintain the integrity of data of the internal Hikma patent databases and design backup systems for data recovery.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of user training manuals, policies, and guidelines
• Build and maintain relationships with key external stockholder (patent offices, health authorities and community groups and associations) to implement Hikma`s strategies
• Provide assistance with the preparation and submission of required electronic filings to various external agencies and health authorities.
• Attend to formalities requested by MENA patent offices.
• Review, evaluate and process external services and invoices.
• Monitor changes in MENA patent law and regulations

Skills, Education And Experience Required

• Good command of English and Arabic in both written and verbal communication. Knowledge of French/German is a plus.
• Strong IT problem-solving skill is a must.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and other web tools and applications is a must
• Prior knowledge of different patent and non-patent databases and search techniques is a plus.
• Prior knowledge of USA, European, and MENA patent systems and regulations is a plus.

Major: pharmacy or any related life-science

Degree: BSc

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in same field
