Job purpose:
The Group Costing Manager is a key contributor to the Corporate Finance team and other business functions by providing key input towards the monthly closing process and articulating high-level analyses and supplement data to support decision-making process for various business stakeholders.
Also, plays major role in closing process with external audit every audit cycle to close the group results and proof whatever requested by external audit regarding mainly PURP solution transactions and calculations, moreover, review the monthly closing results coming out from PURP Solution and assure the completeness and accuracy.
Also, the role oversees the costing process across the sites, ensures proper compliance of group policies, group costing guidance, and standardization, calculates, and maintains the group cost
Provide several corporate and business stakeholders with products group cost by performing complex transactional eliminations and/or consolidation. Examples of stakeholders are commercial, R&D, operations, local finance, M&A and BD.
The group costing manager is involved in the transfer pricing calculation by checking profitability and performing relevant GM% analysis.
In addition, the group costing manager oversees and supervises the calculation of the gross profit margin of products across the group and compares them vs. last year and various periods which includes standard vs. actual cost analysis. Nevertheless, provide costing information for every budgeting and forecasting period either by providing the group consolidated cost after elimination or managing the discussion of the treatment of a certain cost item.
Furthermore, the group costing manager analyses the gross margins for key products across Hikma’s three business segments monthly and guides the preparation of the oral production reports on a quarterly basis to assess the productivity of Hikma plants and monitor the cost per tab between sites.
Finally, the role requires the supervision of the FICO SAP/BW implementations across the group related to finance and provide the management with structured and ad-hoc reports in a monthly manner.
Key accountabilities:
- Ensure accuracy of monthly corporate above gross profit financial statements under scope by reconciling multiple sources and performing certain analyses, like historical trends and budgets, as well as deductive reasoning
- Contribute to the audit process with external auditors proving the PURP Solution figures
- Validate and check the PURP Solution results every month closing and submit the results
- Oversee periodical and ad-hoc managerial reports and packages prepared by the department required for management executive review related for month-end and year-end closing
- Oversee the group and local entities accounting treatment of cost of goods sold/gross profit and ensure compliance with policies
- Work with planning teams across the sites on computing and maintaining the consolidated cost for budgets and forecasts
- Manage and analyze variances and underapplied OH on monthly basis across the group and providing highlights to the management
- Guide the costing teams across the sites with their day-to-day tasks when needed
- Review and support the standard overheads calculation with costing teams in the entities across the group
- Work with the corporate tax team on transfer pricing computations
- Command the process of automating multiple cross-sectional reports in a timely manner by preparing Reports/Dashboards on PowerBI and automating tasks using Excel Models/Power BI such as above gross profit interpretation.
- Collaborate with IT/SAP teams with implementations and projects, nevertheless, lead all SAP FI/CO developments
- Coordinate the global finance material master data on a client level to facilitate reporting and generating value-added analyses to different stakeholders
- Oversee the collaboration with central and local operations, supply chain in key projects and reports when needed
- Collaborate with the operations business partner to gain a global perspective on the complex operational models and flows in the company and provide tailored analyses on group key products in terms of variances compared to trends, markets, targets and communicate with related stakeholders, including Group CFO and other business heads, and providing recommendations
- Manage the team affiliation with the commercial teams globally and Market/Subsegment heads across the Group on specific opportunities, feasibilities, cost efficiencies to support tactical business decision making
- Perform sensitivity analyses based on different cost scenarios given the options available such as (Future raw materials price or campaign manufacturing) to meet business requirement
- Coordinate with multiple functions such as tenders, commercial, procurement, operations, R&D finance, to gather input and reflect in analysis and financial models to support decision making upon request
- Manage the process of analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing the gross profit and other supporting data for management reports, presentations, and ad hoc requests.
- Lead cost of goods (RPM and OH) analysis and administration through reviewing standard and actual costs for inaccuracies and performing, production, price, and other variance checks
- Ad-hoc inventory reporting and analysis when needed
- Research underlying details in SAP and navigate through transaction and balances at account and cost center levels for standard cost calculation
- Immerse with the M&A/BD Team to provide input and insight on costs related to potential acquisitions
- Working with the R&D finance team to provide input and insight on costs related to pipeline products globally
- Supporting role for business and operational insight to other corporate finance functions when needed in addition to a liaison with other functions on project when needed
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business with concentration in accounting
- Preferably a CMA
- A minimum of 8 Years of Finance or related business experience is required in a manufacturing company out of which 4 years are in costing
- Experience in the healthcare sector such as pharmaceuticals, medical device, or consumer products industries
- SAP experience - Previous healthcare or Pharma experience (Preferred)
- Experience with data modelling and dashboarding systems
